If we had more time

If we had more time to continue to work on our game, I believe it would be a lot better. We would have more time to research and find better codes that could make our game even better. They could help the player learn more afficiant and possibly even more fun!

We would also have more time to make our graphics more colorful and life-like. Good graphics is very important to Globaloria games and also makes them better in some aspects.

If we had more time, our game would be a lot better!

My Partner

My partner is Micah. Our team name is “The Honey Bees”. This year, we created a game about the Titanic. My partner helped work on our team page on the wiki. She uploaded a lot of files and filed out some information that we were required to have. She’s really good with figuring out where to put things on our team page.
As for the game, I mostly worked on it. She gave me a bunch of good ideas and mainly helped with the second level. She showed me some cool codes to use that really brought our game to life. She supervised and always asked if I needed any help.
We worked together and came out with a really great game! We both put our ideas together and used each other’s knowledge to make it unique and fun!

Final Game Presentation

Surprisngly, our presentation went really well. Our game didn't glitch or mess up like we'd hoped. Everything went fine and all our codes worked liked they were suppose to. Although, speaking in front of all the people was really hard, and we messed up our speech a ton of times, it still turned out great.

After we presented our game, a lot of people gave us advice and suggestions to help our game improve. They had many great ideas and we are hopefully going to incorporate them into our game and make it better. They told us a lot of different codes we could use, and some amazing websites that could help us with all of it!

Our graphics could've been improved. After looking at it, when we bitmapped, it didn't turn out as well as we thought it had. We could deffinetly fix that. We need to have the player interacting more, also. We could use more difficult coding to improve that.

For the entire 7th and 8th grade, presentations went really well. All of our games worked like we'd hoped and we did better than expected with our speeches. We all helped each other and gave suggestions, too. With the help of each other, our games can turn out even better.

From the presentations of my classmates, i learned a ton of new ways to make games more fun. Everyone had unique coding and graphics. they were all orignal and different and gave us all a bunch of great ideas for our future games.

Official game vs. Demo version

Our official game is different from the demo version, because it is new and improved.

The demo version was mostly just a rough draft, and we created it mostly to get an idea of the direction we wanted to take our actual game. We could try different ideas and be creative and not worry about it being as good as it could. We had fun and played around with it and it gave us a bunch of amazing ideas. Although our game isn't like our demo in a lot of ways, it was still a good base, and a great place to start creating.

Our official game is more advanced and improved than our demo. It's cleaner, has better graphics, and the coding works better and you interact with the game more. Through coding we also found more ways to blend information with interaction and make our game fun while also learning. We weren't able to do that on the demo. From the time we created our demo, to now - after our official game is done - we learnt many ways to make our game better and improved.

Week plan

Soon, we have to present our games. It will have to have two levels, instructions, info, and no glitches. In this upcoming week, I hope to at least finish level one of our game. Just in case it takes longer then usual, I'm going to make sure it's perfect! So, if I only have one level, it will be REALLY good, instead of two "sucky" levels.

Our first level is going to be a hidden objects game. It will take place on the titanic, and you will find the items that might've been on the ship. You will then learn a few facts about the Titanic and how we are going to tie the two together.

Progress

This week, is the first week we've really started on our game.

We done all of our research, and began on our title scene. I personally think it turned out good! We looked at tons of pictures of the Tiatnic so we could get all the details right and make it as realistic as possible for the player.

We uploaded it, along with a few more things, to our team page so everybody could see. Since we knew how to do it, we helped our friends, also.

Today, we began working on our info scene and making a few of the buttons work on the title scene. We had to do more research to give accurate information.

Next week, we plan to have at least half of our first level done, along with the "instructions" scene. Then, we'll upload them to our team page too. We look forward to a great game!

Hidden Objects - Flah

We had to create a hidden objects game; A hidden objects game is a educational (in this case) game were objects are hidden, and you must find them.

Mine was about treasure. You must FIND the shovel and then you dig down to the key and FIND it, and then the treasure.

Besides last year, this was the first time using flash, especially for this subject.

The codes were very easy, and there were a ton of possibilites for this. You could simpley do a forest or a park, and do it in maybe a days time! It's fun AND  easy! (:
